ALBERT PARK CIRCUIT

The Albert Park Circuit is a street circuit around Albert Park Lake, located in Melbourne, Australia. It has been the venue for the Australian Grand Prix since 1996, bringing Formula 1 racing to the streets of Melbourne. The circuit is 5.278 kilometres (3.280 miles) long, featuring 16 turns and a mix of high-speed straights and challenging corners.

Known for its picturesque setting, the track runs through parkland and alongside the lake, providing a scenic backdrop for both drivers and spectators. The temporary nature of the circuit means it is constructed annually, using public roads that are otherwise open to regular traffic.

Drivers appreciate the smooth surface and the circuit's fast, flowing nature, though the proximity of barriers demands precision and skill. Turn 3, a sharp right-hander, and Turn 13, a tight left-hander, are particularly notable for overtaking opportunities. The race usually takes place in March, often as the season opener, setting the tone for the championship battle.

Weather conditions can be unpredictable, with rain occasionally adding an extra layer of complexity to the race strategy. Off-track, the event is a major attraction, drawing fans from around the world to Melbourne, and enhancing its reputation as a vibrant city with a rich motorsport heritage.
